Always a keen maker and collector of small treasures , Annaloucah’s passion for jewellery design was first ignited whilst studying for her BA (Hons) degree in Liverpool in the late 1990's. On completion of her studies, Anna left the UK to travel and to explore her fascination for the people and cultures of the world .This journey was to have a deep impact on her both personally and professionally. Time spent working with goldsmiths in India and Hong Kong , along with solo projects in Australia and New Zealand deeply instilled in her a love for the world jewellery that surrounded her , both for it’s ornament and for its symbolism. After several hugely inspiring years over sea’s, Anna returned home to St Ives in Cornwall where she began to turn this passion for jewellery into a successful business. Imbued with a sense of magic realism , blended with the age old jewellery designs and motifs of her travels , Annaloucah Fine Jewellery has gone from strength to strength. During this time Anna has received numerous grants and scholarships, achieved success in design awards and won many prestigious commissions. Recently relocated from Brighton to London, and currently a student of gemology, Anna believes strongly in the constant creative evolution and development of her business as well as the importance of maintaining responsible business practice.

Along with a love of the gemstones she uses Anna is also interested in investigating the environmental and ethical impact of the jewellery industry. As such she currently uses only Fairtrade Fairmined or recycled gold, is researching supply chains for coloured gemstones and only uses diamonds from suppliers in compliance with the Kimberly Process. For more information visit the Terms and Ethics page.
The result is an endless flow of striking and unique works which are a celebration of colourful stones, distinctive shape and amuletic power. Anna’s magpie - like love of natural treasures , beautiful things and curio’s shines through her jewellery collections while a fascination with symbolism and mythology is also made evident , demonstrated by the regular appearance of legendary characters such as Sea Serpents and Sirens. As a member of numerous professional bodies including The British Jewellers Association, the JeDeCo collective and The Sussex Guild of Designer Craftsmen , Anna believe’s in taking an active approach to seeking out new and diverse ways of bringing her work to public view. Along with participating in several design collaberations with well known jewellery brands, details of Anna's current shows and exhibitions can be found on the ‘News and forthcoming shows’ page of this site or let Anna keep you updated by joining the mailing list via the ‘Contacts’ page
