The symbol of ‘the lotus’ - The lotus flower represents purity, enlightenment, and rebirth across various cultures. The flower rises from muddy waters to a beautiful bloom - reminding us that beauty and wisdom can grow from hardship. In Buddhism, it symbolises the path to enlightenment, with each part of the plant representing a stage from the material world to spiritual awakening. In Hinduism, it is linked to divine beauty, fertility, prosperity, and spiritual perfection, and is often depicted as a seat for deities.
