Choosing your wedding rings

From precious metals and ring profiles to sizing and customisation, here are some of the questions Anna is often asked about choosing wedding rings.

Are Anna Loucah wedding rings handmade to order?

Yes. Every wedding ring is individually handmade to order using traditional goldsmithing techniques. This allows each piece to receive close attention throughout the making process and avoids producing unnecessary stock.

Because your ring is made especially for you, you can select the required size and metal, with further opportunities to personalise the width, finish or gemstones depending on the design.

Which precious metals can I choose for my wedding ring?

Anna’s wedding rings can be made in a choice of 18ct yellow, rose or white gold, or platinum. Each metal has its own colour, character and practical qualities, and Anna can help you consider which will best suit the design, your lifestyle and any engagement ring it will be worn alongside.

Fairtrade, Fairmined and recycled precious-metal options may also be available, depending on the particular design and current supply.

Can the width, finish or gemstones be customised?

Many of the collection designs can be adapted through the choice of width, precious metal, surface finish or gemstone details. What is possible will depend on the structure and character of the original ring.

Small changes can make a considerable difference to how a wedding ring looks and feels. Anna can talk you through the available options and help you retain the qualities you love about a collection design while making it more personal to you.

Can you create a wedding ring to fit around my engagement ring?

Yes. A shaped wedding ring can be designed to sit comfortably alongside an existing engagement ring, following its setting and proportions so that the two pieces feel balanced when worn together.

The engagement ring will need to be assessed before the design is finalised, as the height, profile and position of its setting will determine the shape required. This would usually be approached as a bespoke commission rather than a standard collection order.

Can we choose matching or complementary wedding rings?

Absolutely. Some couples choose rings with the same profile, finish or design details, while others prefer pieces that feel connected without being identical.

A shared texture, precious metal, engraving or subtle design motif can create a relationship between two rings while allowing each person to choose the width, proportions and style that feel most natural to them. Anna can help you explore both matching and complementary options.

How long does a handmade wedding ring take to create?

Lead times vary according to the design, metal, ring size, gemstone requirements and level of customisation involved. Bespoke or technically complex designs may require longer than a straightforward collection order.

It is always best to contact Anna as early as possible, particularly if you are working towards a fixed wedding date. She can confirm the likely timeframe for your chosen design and advise on the available options before you order.
